thinkpad x300 needs a new hard drive, which one?

2012-10-05, 21:50 PM

hi everyone... someone is trying to sell me a thinkpad x300 for really cheap.  he wants to sell it but said it has no hard drive, that any 1.8" would work.. is that true? how much will this cost me? also, i found this one, can anyone tell me if this will work for the machine?

IBM / Lenovo 42T1327 - 250GB 5.4K RPM MicroSATA 1.8" Hard Disk Drive (HDD)

the machine is $200, that drive is $145 = $345 invested.. is that a good deal? or is it not worth the headache of buying parts?

Get a Intel X-18m SSD for speed. Also a second hand Toshiba 120 gigs platter is around 40 dollars on eBay.
