wwan not working together with lan cable plugged in

2010-03-14, 0:25 AM

Hello everybody,

i recent installed new card "Ericsson 3507g Mobile Broadband Minicard Network Adapter" on my x200 (Machine type 74542JU, XP PRO SP3), driver have downloaded and installed from Lenovo site.

And the card is working fine with diff SIM cards (edge or 3G conn).

But when i plug in the cable on my Lan card, i can not connect to internet.

The WWAN connection icon on taskbar remains active, "Thinkvantage Access Connections" (v5.33) also shows status "connected", but somehow can not connect to internet.

When the Lan cable is plugged in, in "Thinkvantage Access Connections" is "diagnostics", when i test the "connection", it writes "unable to connected to internet" with error code 018 and "check the config of firewall".

I thought that maybe ESET firewall is doing the problem, but i after all unistalled the ESET Smart Security and now using only XP Firewall, but problem remains.

When i plug out the Lan cable, i then can connect to internet without any problems.

The IP configuration on WWAN is automatic, on LAN is fixed adress, i use it to connect the network server.

Any help please, this is beyond my limits.

Does your fixed IP address on the LAN cable have a gateway address set?

If so, get rid of it.  Research multi-homed for more information.

This helped me too
