x100e randomly goes into standby mode!

2011-08-16, 22:21 PM

thread title spells it out.

in the last 2 months, my x100e has gone into standby mode by itself 3 times.

this x100e does a lot of weird stuff (thinkvantage toolbox always crashes, power manager never saves my wireless adapter setting of 'maximum performance', etc), but going into standby by itself is something i cant ignore.

i only have issues with lenovo software :smileymad:

Can you try uninstalling Power Manager (and maybe Toolbox while you're at it)?

Also try uninstalling and reinstalling the Power Management driver.

download HWinfo32 or 64 version and check CPU/GPU temperature.

Yes, likely a dirty heatsink, is the culprit.

re-installed pwoer managent drivers and software. Still happening, believe would it be an overheating issue? As when this happens i cannot turn it back on immediatly and have to wait a few minutes.

Is there any temperature tools available?

the overheating explains the sudden standby problems you are having.

LIkely some canned air and a screwdriver are a quicker way to have the notebook working again
