I'm noticing the same design flaw on the x120e as I noticed on my x100e- the tendency of the screen bezel to scuff the palm rest on either side of the touchpad (particularly the left side) when it's closed. My x100e looks really bad. I was really hoping Lenovo would fix this problem with the x120e. They put slightly taller rubber spacers on the x120e, but it wasn't enough to fix the problem. The same problem is beginning to develop. Now I'm left with a new laptop that scuffs itself. ![]()
I never put abnormal pressure on the lid, and I only transport it in a ThinkPad sling or a ThinkPad sleeve (both designed for this laptop). I never put anything else in the sling because I have two adapters (one at home and one at the office), so it's not like there's anything spashing on the lid. I can see this being a problem if I were a student and threw this in a backpack between a bunch of heavy textbooks. But I baby this laptop- it's not something I should have to do to a ThinkPad- but it still is getting damaged. Why is it scuffing?
I've got to the point where I took some rubber pads off another old laptop and stuck them on the bezel to try to prevent it from happening. It works, but it projects a very unprofessional image. Anyone else with this problem?

Hello,
I have installed four rubber feet along the top of the bezel for my X100e's and X120e. This seems to be working adequately.
