x120 - Synaptics driver issues! Trackpoint not working

Okay so i've been struggling to find a fix to this and Lenovo support hasn't really been too useful either.

Basically the trackpoint is having issues working even with the newest bios, etc. and synaptics driver.

It also is having problems with the old driver too?? Could it be in conflict with the new bios update?

Lenovo Support gave me the advice to reformatte as it is a "software" issue and to repeat the same above process.

Yet the problem still persists.  What steps should I try next?  Lenovo support seems reluctant to give me a hardware exchange

Thanks in advance, any advice is open to testing!

I'm just fed up with new drivers having bugs like this.

Re: x120 - Synaptics driver issues! Trackpoint not working

Yes, I'm still trying to fix it.

I'm starting to think the latest Conexant audio update screwed it up because it kept going BSOD and like other users have reported, it affected their trackpad + trackpoint usage!

Now, I've booted an older revision of Conexant audio using a Vista driver as the last one is still the one from January 2011.

And I'm going to try re-installing the latest Synaptics driver.

As of now, its highly unstable with the trackpad and trackpoint.  Upon booting Windows 7, one or the other works, but not both at the same time. Changing the settings in the utility does nothing.

Really annoying.

Re: x120 - Synaptics driver issues! Trackpoint not working

Can you try a bootable Ubuntu disc to see if it's a hardware problem?
