x120e - Noiseless Fan?

2012-01-31, 7:36 AM

Is there such thing out there? The fan noise is simply appaling. And I hate using third party programs to control my fan speed.. They eventually end up heating up the system or taking up resources :/

AFAIK no.

In my case, after a bord change for my x120e, the fan is really quiet. And using internet explorer browser or chrome do not overload the fan. Firefox is to heavy. After hours of browsing the web with chrome, the fan is quiet, and most of the time is off and the laptop is not warm at all. All this by default, no extra programs to control the fan.

I have disabled in bios all the features that I do not use, such as always on usb, boot from lan etc. Maybe disabling not needed functions in bios can help in having a quieter fan.

Regards
