I had purchased two x120e for my kids a while ago. Those fell out of use. I recall being impressed by the WiFi. So I extracted the card, orded some half to full card adapters and stuck one in a Revo Aspire in the Kitchen.
I also upgraded to Win10. Wifi card never recognized....I then learned no Win10 drivers exist on RealTek site.
So re-installed Win 7 Home Premium.
Acquire Realtek drivers for Win 7. Still not working.
Use old Lenovo drivers I download along time ago when I hoarded all x120e drivers. (Win7 on the Revo actually identifies the card in device manager as 'Lenovo'. But the Manufacure and prod ID (10EC & 8176) point to Realtek.
And for a brief time after the install network adapter was seen (but disabled) I tried several times to enable but it never did. After a reboot it was gone again in adapters.
So does Lenovo somehow lock these cards?

Microsoft Windows 10 updates device drivers automatically, and it is possible the operating system is replacing the older, working device drivers with newer ones that may not be compatible. Here's one thing you can try:
At this point, the old device driver should be reloaded.
