x200 must hold center button down to scroll

On my X200, I used to press the center button once. It would display a scroll icon on my screen. Then I couls scroll wothout holding the center button down.

I had to have my laptop reloaded with windows 10 because of a problem. Now I have to hold the center button down to scroll and there is no scroll icon displayed.

How can I change it back to the way it was? I have looked at all the settings under "Mouse" in the control panel.

Re: x200 must hold center button down to scroll

Hi goozletc ,

Warm Greetings & welcome to Lenovo Community, happy to have you here.

As I understand that you have query regarding Trackpoint middle button scrolling in x200

First of all please check whether Touchpad drivers are installed or not from Device Manager>Mice & Other Pointing device

As there are no OEM drivers listed in Lenovo website of Windows 10 for x200

Please answer the required info to help you further on

Regards,
Prabhansh

Re: x200 must hold center button down to scroll

I went to PS/2 Track Point properties and clicked on "Update Driver". I got this reply: "The best drivers for your device are already installed"

So basically, it means the drivers for Touchpad is not installed in your system please update the drivers from Lenovo System update & update us how it goes.

Re: x200 must hold center button down to scroll

I went to "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel and deleted the trackpoint. Then re-booted my machine and the trackpoint works as it used to.

When I press the center button once a little scroll icon appears. I move the trackpoint up or down to scroll without holding the center button. Then tap the center button and the scroll icon goes away as it should
