x200 unable to be start under the place >70% humidity

2009-05-28, 6:37 AM

My thinkpad x200 7458AF2 was bought last Oct, I use it in Macau.

Since this March, the climate of Macau get wet, I found it has a problem if the humidity of room is over 70%.

the problem is:

when I connect the power, the power LED light; then I press the power button, PC starts, power & condition LED light; sudden all the power shut down, no any response, no power LED lights.

I need disconnect the power cord & battery, press the power button again without any power; then reconnect the power cord. power LED light again.

but the PC still has this problem until I bring it to a place <70% humidity.

I check the useguides of x200, it shows the PC can be used well under the condition of 8~80% humidity.

I ask help from lenovo thinkpad center of Macau, the answer is PC maybe has a self protection if humidity is high.

what shall I do? Macau's humidity usual >80%.

would anyone else help to diable this function or set the humidity limit higher to 80% or 85%?
