Do you have Access Connections installed, but not using it? (Look in Add/Remove Programs for Thinkvantage Access Connections).  If so, go ahead and uninstall it.

By default Access Connections will turn off the wireless radio if it thinks you aren't connected (a connection not using AC would count for that)

If you are using AC (or just like the power indicator icon), you can turn the feature off by opening Access Connections, click on the Tools tab, click on the Advanced button in the upper left and then click on Global Settings.

Uncheck the "Allow the wireless LAN radio to be turned off when inactive"  Click OK and cloase Access Connections.
