Since I haven't seen any update on this, wiping the system did not fix mine, and it came up as Mono in the latest Linux Mint.
Also came up as mono when using the generic HD Audio drivers for Windows 7 Ultimate.

Got my X201i today here in Japan and the right speaker is not working. (Win 7 Home Premium) I'll call Lenovo tomorrow and see what they have to say.
Just thought I'd share..

anyone having issues installing the new software? I have gotten this message "source file is corrupted" when I tried to install it.

I finally got the driver working. Turns out that the driver given on the link above, gives me a corrupted .exe file. After searching the internet for another source of download, I finally got the proper working driver from this link. If any Lenovo staff is following this thread, can you please lookinto this matter and verify whether the driver from the inital link is faulty, or is it my own X201 that is at fault here?

just got my x201 in today. speakers are working fine on both sides ![]()
