x220 and x230 batteries

my x220 has type 29 battery and my x230 has type 44 battery

so I need the FRU numbers for the 4, 6 and 9 cell batteries

any generic batteries that work on both machines?

Re: x220 and x230 batteries

x230' batteries work on x220, but not wise versa.
x230' FRUs are here
https://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/x230_fru_bom_20150303.pdf

Generic batteries can't be charged on x230.

x220 • Gobi 2000 3g | hdd, msata ssd, wwan, wifi, gps -- unique hand-made config
ThinkPad 25 Special Anniversary Edition. #retro. Signed by D.Hill
T470p | X1 Carbon Gen3 | Miix 2 10" | Yoga Tablet 2-1050F (Android) + BT Keyboard
ThinkPad Stack • 2.4/5 Wireless Router, HDD 1 TB, BT Speaker, Power Bank, Mobile Projector

Do it well, worse becomes itself

Seems that Lenovo is geting a little hardnosed with hardware whitelists.

Nope.

It has more to do with Li-ion battery safety.

Rather important, IMO.

Regards.

Re: x220 and x230 batteries

I have never had problems with generic batteries, they seem to be ok and I have used several for old machines.

I tend to use higher capacity batteries mostly for library research work were plugs may be in short supply.

I even went to the extreme of a bluetooth keyboard so I could use my iPhone when the laptop battery died. Its amusing using a phone for typing up reasech papers.

Re: x220 and x230 batteries

Did you sort out the issue with the battery. I have just purchased a 'Sunbow' SSD 240Gig which doesn't seem to want to work with the X220.
