x230 Realtek High Definition Audio Driver disabling sound in "Maximize Battery Life" power profile

2019-08-04, 16:47 PM

I usually run my x230 (Win 7 64) power profile for Maximum Performance. I recently changed it to the Maximize Battery Life profile. As soon as I did this the sound stopped working. However, when I change back to the maximum performance profile the sound does NOT return. I need to restart the laptop to get the sound back.

Does anyone know what the cause of this is?

My drivers are up to date, although Win 7 keeps installing Dolby Advanced Audio v2 instead of v4?

UPDATE:

I uninstalled the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver whilst in "Maximize Battery Life", shut down, turned back on and this fixed the sound. So the problem seems to be the Realtek driver. I updated the driver to the latest one from the Realtek website but the problem still exists.

What can I do to keep the audio whilst in Maximize Battery Life profile?
