Re: x230 trackpoint

TrackPoint drift has been happening as long as I can remember, at least back to the X31.  Release the trackpoint, and it may drift towards the top left.  If you let it drift, it stops after a few seconds and after that works properly.  At least for me this happens infrequently enough so as not to be a big deal.

Re: x230 trackpoint

It's been there with every combination of ThinkPad hardware, operating systems and drivers that I can remember.  I can't think of a way to avoid it.

How often is it happening for you?

Not so often. Around once per 10 minutes.

Re: x230 trackpoint

Hello lokifisz!

Are all of your drivers uptodate? You can instal System Update 5.01 utility to verify. System Update downloads data updates for software, drivers, and BIOS from a Lenovo server directly over the Internet without requiring specific user knowledge of where the package is located or if it is needed by the target system.

Also is this mainly happening when you are scrolling? or just in general? there is a reverse scrolling setting we can look into as well.

Thank you for being a part of the Lenovo Family,

Catie

Re: x230 trackpoint

I have already got 5.01 System Update. I haven't noticed 'drifting' while scrolling. Only when pointing.

Once every 10 minutes is a lot!  On all my past ThinkPads (10 or more?) it's been no more than roughly once a day.  If you have exhausted all your driver/firmware updates, maybe there really is a hardware problem.

Re: x230 trackpoint

It actually depends on if I'm using it or not.

Re: x230 trackpoint

Does warranty cover this kind of problems?
