x270 dock/screen issue

2018-03-06, 11:27 AM

Hi,

I have an x270 and I use a ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ultra Dock.

I am using Windows 8.1

When I have the lid closed and it is docked, its fine but if I need to undock the laptop to go to a meeting for example and open the lid, the screen is black and wont do anything. If I plug the laptop back into the dock, it comes back only on the external monitors but the laptop screen itself is still black.

The only way to get around this is to restart the laptop but this is a pain if I am going to a meeting and need the documents that I have just prepared.

I have done the following so far and no success yet:

- Updated the laptops graphics driver - using Lenovo System Update

- Updated the Ultra dock driver

- Updated DisplayLink driver

Has anyone come across this issue before or know how to resolve it? Thank you
