Re: x61 - sound suddenly off...

have you got recently hibernated or put your Thinkpad to sleep?

Which OS are you using? Have you recently updated anything.

The easiest method is the to do a Vista or XP system restore.

TIP: If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the system.

Re: x61 - sound suddenly off...

When you double click on the volume icon in the system tray, are all of your items un-muted?  Is the master level turned up all the way?  When you use the keyboard volume controls, do you see anything on the screen?  What does the sound device look like in Devce Manager?

Re: x61 - sound suddenly off...

alot of these issue are due to people using some software applications"such as skype" and after finishing there use of the application. The application doesn't relinquish its control back to windows. 90% of the time..Just clicking the volume up button on your keyboard will give you your sound back. Test it in Windows Media Player.

Re: x61 - sound suddenly off...

I have the same issue.

X61 suddenly sound off.

And I reintalled Winxp,Sp3,and other thinkpad softwares yesterday.

Sound is off yet.

When I click the volume up buttom on keyboard, the green sign comes out in display.

This morning,I turn on the computer, the sound is back!

I double click the volume in right down conner, turn up or down the volume, the sound is back.

But several minutes later, when I'm trying to play a movie, the sound is gone again.

Tried to turn up volume in Media player, it doesn't work.

Any help?

Another question

There's a quetion sign?

?Other devices-> ?Ethernet Controller.

I checked, I have installed the ethernet controller.

The file is 7kra18ww.

Is that wrong?
