Bootable CF Card Slot?

2008-04-23, 23:53 PM
So...I'm not using my cardbus slot currently, but would like to create a poor-man's solid state disk by installing a CF card in an adapter for cardbus and booting off of it.

The first major problem I see is that I looked through the BIOS and did not see an option to boot from cardbus.  This might be because I don't have a cardbus adapter installed, or it might be from lack of BIOS compatibility.

Does anyone have an answer to this question, or, if the BIOS is lacking support, know of a way to pester lenovo to include this in the next BIOS revision?

Regards,

--Ben

I've got a Delkin Cardbus UDMA adapter and an 8GB UDMA CF card.  I was hoping to use this config as you've described and/or as a big honkin' ReadyBoost cache.  Unfortunately, it appears that the OS does not support such configurations at this time... hopefully it will be fixed soon, though!
