I followed the suggestions on the first page of the thread, specifically what Punch Card said about uninstalling the battery power management and rebooting with the Helix unplugged. (Rebooting plugged in did not work.) My batteries are now fully charged.

Re: Helix - Battery Plugged in, not charging

My Helix suddenly is showing this challenge.battery # 1 shows it charges just fine, up to 100%. But battery #2, no matter what setting I use, remains at 3% and does not charge!

What can I do to get it to charge?

Re: Helix - Battery Plugged in, not charging

So here is what solved my problem, and possibly an ongoing issue. The battery #2 (which is in the keyboard dock. Simply would not recharge. I took the tablet section off to do some work and this pushed the battery to its end, so when I re-attached the tablet, the keyboard was dead. Nothing worked except the tablet.

I put the keyboard back on plug and still nothing. So I inserted a paperclip into the reset hole in the keyboard, and it came back to life , and the computer restarted. And lo and behold the battery for the keyboard was re-charging.and all seems well. I took the tablet off and then put it back on and all seems to be in working order.

However, when it came back on I found I could not reach my files because I got the file library corruption and had to restore my libraries as directed by Microsoft and all is as it should be. That was a real panic at first until I restored everything easily and now I am back to a working computer.

Re: Helix - Battery Plugged in, not charging

I have recently bought Thinkpad Helix from reseller at Amazon. It looks like my helix tablet portion would not charge more than 50% at any given time. It continues to say plugged in not charging. I have tried uninstalling microsoft battery driver from device manager restart machine with power cord unplugged. It did not worked. I have latest lenovo settings app. I have tried updating drivers through windows update and lenovo system update as well. But nothing works.

This happened to me at first also, so try a few things. In the Lenovo
Settings app, then battery stretch, turn it off. Then clock on the battery
indicator in the task bar, then Power Options. Check out the settings there
and you may find one that finally solves the problem. Recheck the battery
icon in the task bar and be sure it is charging both keyboard and tablet
batteries. If not, try other settings as listed above.
