Re: Lenovo Helix design flaw ?

Thanks ryanpm.

(By the way - how do you quote the message you reply to ?)

5-6 paper sheets is an ambigious number, as paper thickness can vary from 40 to 100 grams/square meter,

and that would mean 0.3-1.5mm thickness of the 5-6 paper sheets.

I would appreciate it if you could post a definit number.

Again - many thanks.

When you reply to a post, on the top right section of where you type, there is a red Quote button, click that.

As for the paper thickness, I also was wondering how much good it would do you, but well, that's what you asked for! :)

I don't know the paper grain, but I would say it's a bit thicker than your typical post it note. I have no way to measure with an actual caliper or sized piece of metal. Long story short, I think you will be just fine w/ a small ribbon cable folding under and behind. When I try to move the screen off the base, there is about 1mm in play/movement where your ribbon cable will be going through.

Hope that helps!

My biggest annoyance is the keyboard angle. It only goes back about 110 degree which is horrible to use when I'm sitting on the couch. Touchpad has been an improvement since their other previous types, but it's just isnt there yet when comparing to MBP. No SD card slot. For awhile, I thought those trays were for SD card, guess I should have read that quick reference guide.

I don't mind the lack of an sd card slot, since I have the 256GB Helix. I can see how that would be annoying to others. USB options are available for SD cards, but it's not the best option when it an sd slot could have been provided on the product in the beginning. Oh well. Still a very nice device, imo :)

Where would one find a list of the ports on the 04B7226 Helix Enhanced Keyboard Dock ?

famerbb,

I would look through the PSREF for Thinkpad convertibles for details on helix models - all specs listed

These specs are also available here on the Lenovo.com product pages.

I normally use the PSREF for details like this.  The problem is that the Western European version disagrees with the N. American version as to the number and type of ports. I will report it, and let them check this out.

Let me please correct what I said in my previous post.  There are TWO references to "ports" in the Helix pages in the PSREF.  If you do not read it very carefully, you will miss the point that some ports are provided by the system unit itself, while other/different ports are provided by the keyboard dock.   I am open to Brand direction as to how many should be mentioned.
