Re: Product Recovery Failed...? (Windows 7)

Booted to OS. Created Recovery Media to my USB Flash drive Sucesfully

Booted to Flash Drive to perform product recovery

Chose the 2nd option; Product Recovery: Recovery Failed

Followed: https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/documents/ht116957

Tried a USB2.0 Slot - same thing.

Worst now as I cannot boot back into Windows as it says "NO OS FOUND". Your Recovery killed my OS and I am stuck without an OS.  It's been 3 years how can this not be fixed yet.

I have exactly the same problem. I suspect the reason is that we are not using original hard disks.

Here is the issue, at least for me: The Product Recovery media you create yourself from the machine cannot work if you subsequently delete the little recovery partition, or if you swap in a different hard disk that of course would not have that partition. I don't know why the restore process cannot just say that, or why the phone reps don't know it. The solution is to request a full set of recovery DVDs via the technical support number. You will have to wait several days, and depending on your situation, you may need to acquire an external DVD drive from your local Best Buy. But those DVDs will rebuild the machine to factory original state, including the recovery partition.

Facing the same issue as all other users, "Recovery Failed" pop-up while trying to repair from USB2.0 recovery disk. I have used it in past without any problem but this time it is not working. Tried all (most of) the process suggested in lenovo support or elsewhere but nothing is working and it looks like lenovo support team has also surrended on this issue.
