Revert to XP?

2008-06-13, 2:09 AM
I've been extremely disappointed with my experience with Vista on the X61. I keep updating the system regularly in hopes that the problems will go away and am ready to give up.

If I am willing to do a complete reinstall, is it possible to revert to XP? Can Lenovo provide me with a copy of XP I can use insstead of Vista? If not, can you provide the XP drivers for the X61?

If your issue with Vista is only constantly update, you could just turn that off. It doesn't make things any significant different really.

For changing back to XP, you could find every driver for X61T in lenovo.com itself. However, what you are going to lose is "flick" and some better tablet features in Vista which XP doesn't have.

I had tried once, and that was disappointed for me. Your feeling might differ though.

Well, I had that issue when I very first got my tablet, but after clean installed, put only needed ThinkVantage stuffs. I never had that problem again.

For XP, I think I'm not the only one that ordered Vista Business, but get XP as recovery cds.

you may call up Lenovo and ask for Windows XP recovery CDs as long as your license is either Vista Business or Ultimate.
