Screen colors when using a command prompt and cut and paste problem

2008-07-06, 23:09 PM

I do almost all of my writing using a magnificent 35-year-old DOS outliner.  On all my other computers, the screen colors are identical whether I am using the maximized window that covers the whole screen or whether the program covers only part of the screen.  With my Lenovo, when I maximize my screen the colors become dull and very dark.

I am running XP on all of them, but only my X61 behaves this way.

Also, when I try to paste from other programs into my DOS program, I have to do so repeatedly, sometimes as many as five times, before I succeed.

Thank you very much.  Any help will be appreciated.

I've not seen much on graphic issues running DOS programs on the X61, of course Lenovo and Microsoft would tell you that there is no testing or certification of these programs in the releases of drivers or the O/S.    One alternative might be to run a Virtual PC or DOS Box, see the links below for more information:

Full disclosure: Not a Lenovo employee, just someone with a X61 running Win XP SP2
