Hello and welcome

What's the OS version on the tablet? Is the modem factory preinstalled?
What did you perform before this QDLoader port has appered? Did you install Sierra drivers and apply/agree new modem firmware update? Was there em7455 device in the Network Adapters category in the Device Manager before you performed the drivers installation?

Presently modem is in the firmware loading mode with some error. What's the error of the QDloader port exactly (device status in the Device Manager)? To confirm modem status get and show its USB IDs:
- double click on the QDLoader device, Details tab, Option list, Hardware ID option. The IDs will be shown in the field Value.

As I assumed above, the modem is in the fw loading mode presently, not in the application mode. Unfortunately, you didn't provide its status, error description.

It seems imnpossible to reflash modem as the port has error. Modem performs the fw update in the auto mode once the Sierra drivers are installed.

Find out its flash update utility log. It should be here:
C:\Users\[user_name]\AppData\Roaming\Sierra Wireless\Logs\fdt.txt

Attach it to your post here, I'll try to look at.

There is a chance to reset modem using fw update utility:
- navigate to the folder with Sierra software installed, there should be the tool fdt.exe
- open the command prompt window (cmd) and change current directory to the one above
- launch the following string:
fdt -reset
- wait several minuts, check out the modem status in the device manager.

Then have a look at the log again.

But firstly I'd try ...to remove Sierra sw completely as this modem works with OS native drivers.

Unfortunately, win10 installation causes such issues by unknown reason, you're not alone.

One more question:
is the sim card inserted presently while QDLoader device is presented with error (I assume it's a Code 10 error)?

Power off laptop completely (using Shift key, for examplre), remove the sim card, power on, check out the modem status in the Device Manager.

Re: Sierra 7455 X1 tablet Problem QDloader port COM4

Is there no solution to this problem?

I rebuilt my X1 Tablet which was running working LTE in W10 1607.  The Feature Update wouldn't apply so I decided to rebuild to 1709 rather than deal with the profile issues I've read about.  Anyhow, used System Update to apply all drivers, but also ran into this QLOADER ISSUE (COM Port 3 in my case).  I also downloaded all drivers using Driver grabber utility to see if there is anything unique to EM7455, with no luck.  I saw another post pointing me to the Sierra Wireless support site but those goofs want us to now pay for support to obtain ODM drivers.  Good Luck with that SW...
Anyhoo - looking to Lenovo to solve this issue and get my LTE working again!
