Stuck SSD

2011-06-14, 23:20 PM

Hello.

Today I recieved my new x220 tablet and I installed a new retail box Intel 320 series SSD into the unit.  However, I didn't realize I needed to remove the original hard drive from it's cage (craddle?) and so I slipped the SSD straight into the drive bay.   Unfortunately I need to remove the SSD as it appears the Acronis's software didn't correctly clone the original hard drive onto the new SSD.   I'm getting an NTLDR is missing when I try to boot off the SSD.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Download this manual, follow the instructions in there to remove the keyboard and palmrest, then open the drive door. You should now be able to view the drive from top, try to push it outwards using some soft tool. You can also watch the videos.

You don't need to put the SSD in the caddy (cage?), just put the rubber spacers around it, again the instructions are in the HMM.

Hope this helps.
