Vodafone Wireless - Tablet X61

2008-03-31, 11:07 AM
Help !, We have purchased 3 IBM X61 Tablets (7767-BFG) & are battling to get the Vodafone Wireless working. IBM S.A & Vodacom S.A have not been able to assist.. Is the device supposed to work "out of the box", which I would think it should..or does it require major configuration.

Please Help !

I know it's a bit late, but I've just recently solved a similar problem with a T60. The problem was with the thin plastic strip that is used to remove the SIM card from the wireless adapter. This has a hole in it that allows the contacts on the SIM card access to the WWAN adapter, but the hole is too small. Reinserting the SIM card underneath the plastic strip meant that proper contact was made and everything has worked perfectly ever since.
A few notes -
I have to use tweazers to remove the SIM card now.
The hole appears to be the right size for a GSM/GPRS SIM card, but too small for the contacts on a Vodafone 3G/HSPDA card.
The Sierra Wireless card also needs a firmware upgrade to work with HSPDA.
