No... It's not just an Adobe problem since pressure sensitivity does not work with either Painter nor with Sketchbook pro.

it works pretty good but my 7in android tablet is a little easier to hold for reading. I might just need to get used to it

If you're used to a 7" tablet, I can see why this would feel heavy and awkward. I have the iPad 4, and the Helix felt pretty good to me. I have a wedge-shaped lap-pillow thing that I rest my iPad on when I'm sitting in a chair with it watching TV. Not sure if that would block the fans, though, and cause it to heat up.

I agree with your comment about the iPad's easier pick-up/use factor for the average user. The Helix was my first exposure to Win8, and I found it over-complicated.

I'm not sure what Wacom driver you found, but try looking for this driver under Tablet PC on the Wacom site:

Tablet PC - Enhanced Graphics Driver 7.1.0-8

That is the driver that is most commonly used for devices like this.  Then you can go into the control panel and change settings how you like.

See if that driver can be installed and if it provides the pressure sensitivity.

No... When you try to install that driver you get a message saying, 'no supported tablet found'. The driver with the March 2013 is the correct one.... At least it installs correctly..... Just no pressure sensitivity.

It maybe a driver problem but if the pressure sensitivity works in some apps then there is no reason that adobe couldn't use the same abilities of the driver and incorporate it into the program. Typically programs are made to work with drivers not the other way around. Sounds like they are lazy or waiting for the drivers to be adapted around them.
But I doubt there is a touch pressure standard currently set.

I'm sure it will work itself out soon. Especially if devices that use the same hardware get popular.

hi automattic,

How is the trackpoint functionality? Could you give a review about it?

This is a thing that probably many die-hard thinkpad fans want to know since now lenovo has removed the trackpoint buttons for the new thinkpad line ups.

So before we are all talking about detailed functionality, wouldn't it be good to find some place to get the helix first? :D

I searched the whole web but didn't find any reliable source...

I thought some of you might want to know that I ordered the i7/180GB SSD/8GB RAM Helix from PC Connection using the link provided a few pages back.  That was the only build in stock and, thankfully for me, was pretty much the build I was looking for (I tend not to use 256GB but 128GB can get squeezed).

In any case, I placed the order yesterday around ~10AM, verified it against fraud protection as mentioned elsewhere here, and it's out for delivery this morning.  That's with the overnight shipping option.

There don't seem to be any LTE models available anywhere that I can see, BTW.

edit: I checked the link and it is now "Call for availability" like the other models, so you may not have as much luck, although who knows what their stock is like. Sorry. This was the one: http://www.pcconnection.com/IPA/Shop/Product/Detail.htm?sku=15209069&cac=Result

Re: When is the Helix release date?

The battery life keeps getting better after a few cycles through the battery. I used it for 2 hours at night then all day in the office and still had battery left over..,...

I think I agree with what the full post said.  I have mine on full brightness and it does chew up battery.  Getting used to win 8.  Going cold turkey on Monday and using it in classes maybe with widi.

Does anyone know how much energy those "live" tiles use?
