Wow that video was very misleading. Do you know if the screen is 11 inches or the screen and the bezzle?

From 2:47 here, we can see that the screen display is disabled on the sides, with just a black bar on each side. I think this is what is the most misleading in the video, makes the screen look like a netbook (in my opinion at least).

With a tablet, if you didn't have the inactive bezel, you would be driven mad every time you picked it up or held it securely with one hand and it detected touches and did random things.

The bezel gives you a place to put your thumb to secure the tablet.   I've not seen a tablet without a substantial bezel, in fact this has one of the smaller ones I've seen.

Wow, that is really strange. I can't imagine why anyone would do that.

By the way, Rick, do you allow Windows to control auto brightness?  I have mine off because of the earlier observation in this thread--maybe from you-- that disabling it made the screen much brighter, which it does, but I've noticed that there is still some ambient brightness control going on.  I have to wonder exactly what Windows' auto brightness function is useful for on this machine if it has an ambient sensor that does the trick better.

I disabled mine as well (as I usually do on most devices) but haven't noticed any further auto-dimming afterwards.    The only thing it does is dim after a time based on power settings.   I even alternated between putting a flashlight on the camera and blocking it and no differences.

That video was what made me think the borders were really big.

Thanks FreedCandy and Kabouik for your inputs.

Another question for owners: do any of you use the machine with text set to 100% (no enlargement)?

Mine was definitely dimming this morning in Modern UI.  I'll make better observational notes next time I see it happening and will confirm the setting is off at the time.

What about the iPad Mini?  I was thinking of that when I first saw the borders in the video.

Regarding text, I have Desktop mode set to 125% in Control Panel and keep Chrome at 100% in Desktop mode, which is a bit small. In IE10, which is where I do most of my browsing since it works best with touch, I have it at 150%.

I don't think 100% would be very practical at this resolution and screen size.

Thanks FreedCandy. I do a lot of coding, was hoping to use 100% so I can fit more text. We'll see I suppose. :)

Hope other owners can post your opinions as well.
