Ordered two units from a reseller in early December and just recieved them last week, they were backordered twice and shipped a few days apart.   Both are Multi-touch.

Well, I finished talking to sales only to find out that there is only one screen now that functions with any variety of touch. All otherscreens, standard - superbright - superbright outdoor viewable, are only for pen digitizing. This despite the fact that there remains multiple places on the website that refers to single finger touch and optional enhanced multifinger touch.

Anyone considering purchasing this unit, be very careful how you configure it in order to make certain that you get what you are expecting. It is really a shame that such good equipment is hindered by the reputation of the 'customer service' arm of this organization.

Are they single finger or multi-finger touch?

Update 2:  Just received my tablet today!  So, it took almost exactly 4 weeks for delivery (as stated on Lenovo's website when choosing the 128 SSD option).

The tablet delivered was exactly as I had ordered.  With Windows 7 Pro 64bit, 4GB of RAM, and "Lenovo Enhanced Experience", booting up to the login screen took less than 5 seconds!

I upgraded the OS to Windows 7 Ultimate and it seemed to have broken the Access Connections Windows wireless Service manager.  However, wifi and bluetooth still work fine.

I'm very happy with the machine.

Re: X Series Tablet Laptops Shipping discussion (2010)

Oh boy, these shipping horror stories are seriously scaring me.

I ordered my X200 Tablet on February 2nd, and did not include any parts that would delay shipping; the estimated shipping date was February 10th. It is now 1 AM, February 11th, and the estimated shipping date just changed to February 18th on my order status page.

I really hope it'll ship out by the 18th. I really really really hope it will.

Is it even worth the trouble to call and ask why my order was delayed, despite me specifying all in-stock parts?

Update: Called Lenovo, they told me to call their Government and Education sales division; called them, and a very helpful (and American, shockingly, although I suppose that has something to do with their "Government and Education" classification) salesperson told me he was "escalating my case" and asked me for my phone number and email so he could send me an update when he found out what the hold-up was. I'm praying he doesn't blow me off.

Update: Lenovo rep emailed me a few hours later confirming that their factory was "waiting on commit" from the screen manufacturer. So apparently Lenovo doesn't stock screens for their laptops. Color me flabbergasted. Estimated delivery date is tomorrow, we'll see what happens. Rep told me to contact him this week for an update - I plan on doing so if the 18th comes and passes without a delivery. What began as a time-sensitive order is now a waiting game. Whee.

Update: Estimated shipping date was just pushed to March 4th. Lenovo's getting an angry call from me in about six hours. This is patently absurd.

Re: X Series Tablet Shipping Messages

Okay, so my dilemna from October continues. Lenovo agreed to a return of the unit that didn't match the order that I placed.

On February 1st, I placed my fourth order, the first two were cancelled because they couldn't supply the configuration and the third was returned for being incorrect. Anyway, the February 1st order was entered and I was given a February 19th ship date. The ship date was moved to March 10th on February 20th when it didn't ship as scheduled.

Yesterday, I received a message announcing the X201 Tablet. How nice! I've been waiting for my unit since October and now it's in it's end of life scenario as I wait for delivery. I can only wonder if my present order will be manufactured with the last available components or if it will wind up getting cancelled altogether!

Update - As of Sunday, March 7th - there is no longer an estimated ship date. What does that mean?

Ordered an X200 Multitouch tablet on February 19, was given a ship date of March 8, called in and verified this on Friday. Yesterday the order appears to have been cancelled without so much as a call or email letting me know about this. How disappointing. :(

Edit: There is a Lenovo rep at my work and he said it's actually set to ship this Saturday, so it looks like it wasn't cancelled after all.

Edit 2: Now the online tool says 4/01/2010

This thread (and the many like it) is making me scared that I will never receive my tablet. I ordered the x200 T with enhanced multitouch two days ago, and as of today, there is still no shipping date. The status says "In Process." Is this normal? Has anyone actually received their tablet on time?

sounds like lenovo still doesn't have its game together for tablets.

i ordered mine on october 15th, and after 2 months i finally got it. It was worth the wait though! I have a enhanced multi-touch screen (which added to the delay)

this is, however, the best computer i have ever bought. so consider waiting for it

Weird. Lenovo order status says my accessories were all shipped today, 3/9/10. Funny thing is, today I already received one of the accessories, and none of the others. I guess the website shipping dates aren't very reliable.
