X220T Screen Issue

2012-08-31, 0:09 AM

Hi, I have an X220T Tablet, and I noticed something on the screen that is bothering me.  I tried to take pictures but it doesn't show up well.

Basically I noticed these faint vertical lines about 1 inch long all along the bottom of the screen.  I don't really notice them unless I hold the screen up to the light at an angle, and when I do I see the color spectrum on these lines.  I hope this is a good description.

The lines look like they are equal distance apart so I don't think it was a scratch or something caused by me.  It seems like it might be something caused by the keyboard when the lid is closed.

Anybody else have this as well?  Is there a way to remove them?  Maybe some kind of cleaner or something?  If not, what can I do about this?  The tablet is still under EZServ warranty.

i had a look at mine new X220t and the old X220t at work (both had the touchscreen LCD), none have lines in the manner you described.

Thanks.  Maybe it just needs a good cleaning.  What is the best way to clean the screen?

It's on top on the surface of the bottom of the screen right? like sort of scuff marks on the black parts? not on the computer screen itself like dead pixels.

Because its the scuff marks, I have that too. Its just the keyboard probably scratching the screen cuz the laptop is being squeezed and the screen is moving. Thats my guess.

I think the only way to get rid of them is to replace the cover. not the screen, just the plastic cover that you write on.
