X230T - No audio through Ultrabase Series 3

Hi,

 

I have a ThinkPad Ultrabase Series 3 that I have used for the past 12 months with my X220T. I have purchased an  X230T now and placed in to the same Ultrabase Series 3. Everything seems to work EXCEPT I don't get any audio through the speaker out port in the docking station. Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone let me know if it works on their setup?

Try to update your audio driver and USB driver from this page:

I have this same problem with my x230t and ultra base 3 dock. 

 

I upgraded my audio driver, and still no luck. 

 

When I plug in an audio jack into the dock, sound no longer comes out of the built-in laptop speakers... but unfortunately no sound comes out of my external speakers. When unplugged from the dock, the speakers resume to come out of my laptop speakers.

 

Any suggestions?

 

Is it possible that my unit is defective?

I tried the updated drivers as well but unfortunately no joy. Claiming it is compatible if you lose Audio through the Ultrabase is pretty poor Lenovo.

 

I hope there is a fix soon as I have the Ultrabase connected to a nice stereo so i can listen to music from the laptop.

Same problem here... my X230 tablet actually came with the Ultrabase 3, so it's not because the base from X220 is somehow different...

To get something going, I am just plugging the speaker cable in the tablet itself, not as convenient of course, but it does the job.

I have rebuilt my X230T with Windows 8 RTM. I went into Device Manager and uninstalled the Microsoft HD sound driver and installed the Windows 7 x64 driver that ron_9972 recommended in his link.

 

The audio is now working perfectly well through my Ultrabase Series 3.

you can get Win 8 RTM if you have the MSDN subscription.
