X60 touchscreen or not?

2008-07-01, 22:27 PM

Hello, I purchased a new X60 that was advertised to have the Multitouch screen, recieved it and from what I can tell it is just the plain LCD. The model is 6365-CTO. The P/N for the screen when I look it up on the website by S/N is 42t0359.

Can someone tell me if this actually is the Multitouch screen, I'm trying to settle a dispute with a seller. Thanks.

Roy,

I went through the part lists for the LCDs and was not able to find the FRU number you listed, the 42T0359.   That might be the manufacturing number, but it is usually only off a digit.  Most of the screen and digitizer part numbers will be the 13Nxxxx numbers.

Maybe you can have another look at the part list, or send me a PM with your serial number and I'll see what we can find out.

Mark

Mark is best enabled to provide you with exact specs on your system.   The CTO (Custom To Order) tablet does have several screen options available (2 not touch and 1 touch), so if your screen is not touch, it probably isn't the Multitouch screen.  If I were buying this tablet advertised as touch and the touch didn't work (wrong screen option or faulty software/hardware), I'd do my best to work towards a refund.  The longer you wait, the more difficult it is to work with a seller.

Full disclosure: Not a Lenovo employee, just someone with a X61 running Win XP SP2
