X60T battery malfunction

2008-07-31, 2:27 AM
The battery on my X60T has stopped functioning, and finding other people with similar symptoms has led me to believe it's the problem described on http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67765 . However, I don't use Windows (I uninstalled it roughly 15 seconds after receiving the laptop), so I can't run the verification software. Is there some other way I can verify this (e.g. using Linux's tp_smapi driver) so that I can request a replacement?

I'd find a way to boot off an alternative boot drive with Windows loaded and run it from the alternate boot disk.   Not many Linux users will have the expertise to emulate the functionality of the verification software.

Full disclosure: Not a Lenovo employee, just someone with a X61 running Win XP SP2
