tablet display doesn't work, but external does??

2009-12-03, 4:53 AM

I have an x200 tablet with Windows 7 (clean install) and all the latest drivers.

When I boot up, the tablet display works fine, even showing the Windows page when starting up.  But then it fades to a pale gray where the background isn't very visible.  When I connect an external monitor via VGA, the external monitor works fine while the tablet display doesn't.  If I try to restart, both displays work fine while shutting down and booting back up, but the tablet display fades again at the same point during start up??

Any ideas?

Have you tried to adjust the settings in Power manager?

Does the screen brightness increase when you press FN+Home

I just restored to default settings in the power manager and still same problem.

The screen brightness increases when I press FN+Home and decreases when I press FN+End.

It seems like some of the colors are missing.  For example, on this screen, the text appears purple, the royal blue buttons (i.e."reply") appear aqua, the background is all white (maybe a light gray), none of the images show, etc.

p.s. Thanks for your help!

It could be the graphic driver, that is discussed in this post.

The info in that thread helped.  I downloaded and installed the previous version (8.15.10.1855) of the display driver and that seems to have fixed the problem.  Thanks for your help!!
