x60t Battery not charging. Status - No Activity.

2009-01-17, 19:24 PM

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this one.

I have an x60t which I truly value as the best computer I've ever owned, minus it's kinda dinky single speaker.

The original battery has gone kaput on me, and no longer charges- and is considered 'poor' by Power Manager software.

I purchased a replacement battery which is condition 'Good', however whenever it is plugged in-

Power Manager gives it the status of "No Activity", and the battery itself does not charge.

Whenever either battery is in the battery LED on the unit blinks rapidly in Orange.

I also have the Wedge battery that sits under the machine.  This however still charges and functions properly.

Is it likely my new battery is just defective, is this a software management issue, or is my machine itself no longer capable of charging the main unit batteries?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
