Digitizer pressure issue

2011-03-05, 6:50 AM

I experience a problem with pressure sensitivity on my X201. When I move pen very close to the screen I get a line drawing or a click, though I don't touch the screen.

If it is a pen issue it is a very ubiquitous one. I've tried a pen from HP tm2, and I bought myself an Axiotron Studio Pen (UP-911-E) both of them have the same behaviour.
Also I tried to remove nib from the pen, and move it around -- I got strokes. With original Lenovo pen and Axiotron one. Moreover I checked pressure values (in Linux), and pressuer is almost linearly related to distance from the screen (and that's with the nib out).

In Wacom Forum I got this answer:

The tablet should report pressure only when you touch it with the pen. There is some calibration needed, but that should be done during production. Perhaps it could be corrected with a firmware update from Lenovo.

So I want to request a firmware update. Could you give me a hint on how I do it? or where can I get one?

Thank you.
