Up until a few days ago, I ran the evaluation copy of Windows 8 with little fuz on my X201 Tablet with the X200 Ultrabase.
I have a DELL 3007WFP with DVI-D only.
I connect it to the X200 Ultrabase using a Displayport to DVI-D active adapter from BizLink, and as mentioned, it has been working fine.
The I ran a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, and upgraded to Windows 8.
Before that, I upgraded the BIOS to 1.4.0 (The one that Lenovo says is Windows 8 ready)
Now I get "Another deisplay not detected" when I go to the resolution setup for monitors.
I have tried hundreds of different approaches (new drivers, old drivers, windows 7 drivers, intels own drivers)
Solved! Go to Solution.

To make sure I fully understand the issue: You have upgraded to Windows 8, and you have your machine connected to an Ultrabase, correct? Are you trying to extend/duplicate your display from the laptop to another monitor? If you are trying to connect the laptop to an external display, have you attempted to do this when the computer is not in the Ultrabase?

Yes, I have upgraded to Windows 8, and I have the Ultrabase X200.
Yes, I am trying to extend the desktop via the DP on the Ultrabase, using a DP to DVI-D adabter, which worked before upgrading (running the evaluation version of Windows 8).
Extending through the VGA port on the labtop aswell as the VGA port on the Ultrabase works fine. However, this is not a solution that will do it, since I need 2560x1600 on the extended monitor.

I am seeing the same problem with my Lenovo X200 type 7450 with my Ultrabase. I have modified the Intel GM45 driver package to force install on Windows 8 (driver 188.8.131.525), thinking the Intel Win8 driver was the problem: didn't fix my issue.
Can someone from Lenovo please address this issue. Previously X201 & X200 users had no problems powering dual monitors from our Ultrabase, and this is a serious limitation.

For some magic reason, the monitor snapped on today.
I have absolutely no explanation as to why!
What did I do since my post?:
I went to a store and brought my X201 and X200 ultrabase.
At the store they were kind enough to unpack a DP to DVI adabter and test if my setup would work with another adabter, and it did right away.
I therefor concluded that my own adabter was broken. ( I even ordered a new one ).
The adabter at the store was a low budget edition which wouldnt allow me to hit the 2560x1600 resolution as needed.
I did buy a DP to HDMI adabter, which I tested as soon as I arrived back home. The HDMI worked perfectly right away (also low resolution @1920x1080 )
Today I undocked, and went into tablet mode, for some outside GPS testing. When I got back in, I flip the screen back to normal and placed the X201 in the dock, and there it was, the DELL 3007 WFP lit up as a christmas tree
Btw. I also installed the drivers for my Epson WF-7525 today.
I have tried every last combination of docking/undocking/drivers etc. with no luck, then today out of the blue - it works.

I've tried 3 different adapters now, including the recommended Lenovo one (I researched the correct FRU and purchased). I also tried a cheap Chinese one I got from eBay and this one from Amazon:
So in total that makes 2x different DVI outputs & 1x HDMI output, none of which worked Thanks for getting back to me and trying to help smortensen, its more than Lenovo's been able to do -.-

Today.. out of the blue - I'm back to square one!!!
How I regret ever buying this Lenovo with the X200 Ultrabase not supporting DVI-D 2560x1600
I'm so disapinted in Lenovo
