I have a new X220t Tablet and it works fantastic. I went with the SSD knowing I would be pushing the limits of storage space but I planned from the beginning on getting a second SSD for the ExpressCard slot. I purchased a Wintec 128gig SSD but it didn't work correctly from the beginning. To start it didn't plug and play at they said. After several support calls and a process I can't quite recall it was there and working. The problem came whenever I shut the machine down. The card was gone on reboot. So each time I wanted to use it I had to removed the card and plug it back in. The machine would then see the card and my drive was back.
Is there a better driver or something that would make this SSD more relialble?
Configuration:
X220t
Windows 7 SP1
64bit
i7-2640M .28GHz
8gb of memory
Thanks for any help I can get...

I have the SSD from Lenovo and wanted to add the 2nd SSD in the ExpressCard Slot. Not sure what you mean by mSATA SSD. Is there a second slot I am not aware of?

I think I got me answer from the support group at IBM. My machine does have a 2nd drive slot. mSata on the mother board. It's limited to 80gb SSD per support so I ordered a Intel 80gb mSata SSD today. We will just see when it gets here.
Thanks, Charles

The mSata is not limited to 80GB... I had a 128GB drive on my X220T before moving it to the X230T.

See below the response from Wintec support :
TECH-SPT: 128 GB ExpressCard and Lenovo CoodBoot Issue
Resolution is : Hello
This is a known issue. Please see the link below:
http://www.wintecind.com/support_center/FAQ/questi
We have identified an issue with the current generation ExpressCard SSD and Windows O/S where the ExpressCard may not be recognized by the O/S during a cold boot cycle. Our firmware engineers are reviewing the problem and working with the controller manufacturer to develop a fix.
A temporary workaround for this issue is:
Cold boot the PC - Windows O/S computer with the ExpressCard physically connected
After the O/S has fully loaded and is stable, proceed
Remove the 64/128 GB current generation ExpressCard
Then re-insert the ExpressCard back into the slot
This workaround allows the Windows O/S to recognize the ExpressCard again.
PLEASE NOTE: We have only seen this issue in Sony and Lenovo computers
You may decide to use the workaround or return the item to the retailer for a full refund.
