Firewire port in X61 Tablet

Is it possible to have a firewire port put into my X61 Tablet.

The downloading of photos seems to take a very long time.

Thanks

Re: Firewire port in X61 Tablet

Hi torags, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!

It will help the community help you if you can give use your seven-character model type e.g. 7767-02U.

I believe most X61 Tablets have 1394 Firewire 400 ports (front right, look for a tiny 1394 in the plastic).

I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

Re: Firewire port in X61 Tablet

Hi , thanks for responding..

It looks like I have a Type 7764CTO

Maybe they didn't have them in my model. I wonder if I can have it installed

Re: Firewire port in X61 Tablet

I see a tiny 1394 receptacle, but my 1394 plug is too large to fit in

Re: Firewire port in X61 Tablet

Then you need an adapter! There are several different types of FireWire connectors. You probably have a 6-circuit. The ThinkPad has the smaller 4-circuit.
