The "paper clip trick" doesn't help me much.
I've detached the keyboard, disconnected the power supply and used a paper clip to reset the dock somewhere between 50-100 times now. The computer will actually boot up when docked from time to time but usually not. If I repeat the steps a few times the computer will boot sooner or later but it's much quicker to just detach the keyboard and reboot (as this allways works).
If have to use hibernate to disk instead of standby for the computer as it will try to boot up, freeze and drain the battery it I leave it docked and in standby. Another reason to use hibernate to disk is that the system state will survive a few failed boots that way (the computer will allways freeze before it starts loading the operating system leaving the hibernated data intact on disk).
My computer is a Helix 3698-C6G modell.

I just started having this issue. My Helix is up to date with all the latest drivers, bios, and firmware updates. The paperclip reset fixes it for a bit, but it continues to happen.
Very frustrating the quality issues I have had with this machine. The keyboard/dock has already been replaced once.

Mine is working properly now. I had tried to install the updated Flash rom for the keyboard/dock and it was telling me it was not compatible. Trying again after a reboot it worked and now I don't have the keyboard stuck issue any longer.

i have tryied the all the options you mentioned on this thread but could not resolv the issue.
while updating the firmwire i got the message "this tool and ec firmware mismatch, or communication error is happened.
please i need your help in this regard to resolve the issue.

Whe're a company and whe have this very annoying problem since our 2nd group purchase. First buyed helix don't have any problem, working very well, battery and dock doing what they are suppose to do.
But for the second purchase, we have lots of problem on 8/8 helix...... Its very disapointing cause mosts of our users cant connect to the dock when come back after at the company and they are fed up using all the time a paper clip.
Make your work lenovo team !!! its a shame doing nothing for this !!!!
Firmware update -- nothing work
Other update driver available -- dont work again
return the product -- waste of time
replace some pieces of the dock -- AGAIN waste of time
Help from helpdesk -- did i say its a waste of time ?
