Help with X220 Tablet Integrated Camera Problem

Hi all,

I'm new here, nice to meet you all.

My x220 tablet integrated camera does not appear in the device manager (Win7 Ult x64).

There is no yellow flag in my device manager.

It does not appear in the communication utility.

It is enabled in BIOS.

Anyone can help how to fix this problem?

Thank you.

Re: Help with X220 Tablet Integrated Camera Problem

Hi

Welcome to the community.

As per your concern you are unable to use Integrated camera.

In order to resolve the issue, I would suggest you to please re-install the camera driver from the below mentioned web link.

http://support.lenovo.com/en_SG/downloads/default.page

Now  you need  to configure the camera settings, do the following steps:
1. Press Fn+F6. The Communications settings window opens.
2. Click the Manage Settings button. The Communications Utility window opens.
3. In the Communications Utility window, configure the camera settings depending on your individual
needs.

Afterwards, please check whether the issue gets resolved.

Regards,

Sameer

Hi,

When I try install the driver you gave me, the installation will stop halfway without any warning or success message.

Re: Help with X220 Tablet Integrated Camera Problem

Hi kariage,

Have you tried to update your BIOS to the latest version?

With this link you can click on the second category BIOS and get the latest update.

Once you update BIOS you should be able to install the driver successfully in SAFE MODE.

Once the installation goes through, test it and let us know the results..

Re: Help with X220 Tablet Integrated Camera Problem

Hi, I have tried to update to the latest version, and install the driver in SAFE MODE but it didn't work. The camera appears in BIOS > Security > I/O Port (Enabled) but does not appear in the Device Manager at all (not even as unknown device) Do you know what is the problem? Thank you.

Re: Help with X220 Tablet Integrated Camera Problem

kariage,

Here is a forum post regarding this issue:

http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/Thinkpad-T530-Integrated-Camera-no-longer-w...

How long have you had your system and this issue?

Primarily it might be a phyical connection issue.

Make sure BIOS, camera drivers and the communications utility are updated.

After that, you can check to make sure the camera is properly connected using the Hardware Maintanence Manual.

Also, if you decide to open the system yourself, make sure to use the manual and make sure you are not voiding the terms of your warranty.
