Windows device manager shows it as not connected. But it has been working just a week ago! Hardware or software?

Was there any updates / changes made prior to the Issue? Try uninstalling the WWAN Driver from Device Manager (Under Network Adapters). Restart the laptop, and install the latest driver here,
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/ (Enter Serial Number>Drivers and Software>Networking Wireless WAN)
Update us how it goes.
