Keyboard cleaning problem

Hello,

My girlfriend dropped lemonade on her keyboard and after a week it become so sticky that she could not type anymore because the keys would not pop back up. I cleaned the keyboard by manually removing all the keys and wiping what I could but it barely did anything. Ive searched the internet and came across a few people cleaning it by removing the keyboard and using solvents. Ive decided to use water at a mild temperature to do the trick. I made sure to let it dry enough before reinstalling it but I believe I did not let it dry enough. At first the navigator had a problem because the mouse would stay in the corner. I've removed the keyboard and realized that there was one part with a bit of water left... After drying it, it worked perfectly. This morning, when she opened her keyboard more than 50% of the keys are not working. Before deciding to buy a replacement keyboard I wanted to know if there's something I could do. It's a possibility that some water did not completely dry and there is still some residue where the current passes.

What are your thoughts?
