Lenovo Helix 2 - Pro Keyboard Dock Stop Functioning

BIOs Version: N17ETA6W 2.06

 

Over the last two weeks, my pro dock has been losing functionality. 

 

Two weeks ago, the back light function was flickering on and off randomly. Then it just stopped working completely. FN + Spacebar doesn't work at all. Just today, the hot keys of turning up and down brightness no longer work. On the screen, I can see the pop notification that the screen brightness is going down or up however the screen's brightness does not change with my button mashes. 

 

I have two drivers that I saved on my laptop and both don't work. 
I have the ThinkPad Helix 2 Firmware Update Utility for Ultrabook Pro Keyboard. The original one from 2015 and the most recent one that is recommended on the lenovo site. There has been no luck on install any of these drivers. 

 

Please advise! Thank you so much

Hi Shadowz! Does it happens on the onscreen keyboard? Check all the keys here. , click on the Launch the Tester. If the issue is the same, the issue is most likely a hardware failure. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Jwes,

 

When I use that website. If I press F5/F6 with the FN lock off. On the screen, I see that Windows is registering my click of adjusting the brightness up or down however the brightness doesn't change. If I go into settings and directly change the slider, the brightness does change.

 

When I press FN + Esc. The FN key does turn on (there is a green light within the key). The FN lock pop up does show on the screen as well. 

 

So for some reason, when the fn key is off, FN + space doesn't trigger any visual cue but the space key words since I typed this message.

Try running the update through the Vantage app. Install all available updates especially the BIOS as there is a new update recently for your machine.
