SIM Card in X220 Tablet

I just purchased X220 Tablet. While purchasing I was made to understand that the system comes with Mobile Broadband Ready. However I am unable to use  my SIM card. I have inserted the SIM in the slot underneath the Battery, as was mentioned in the manual. But it does not work, no internet connection and in Access Connection the Mobile Broadband button is greyed. Can some one explain reason?

I am able to use the sim with the pocketwifi, the tablet is able to detect through wifi but I wanted my 3G to be inthe laptop so taht I don;t have to use pocketwifi or USB dongle.

Re: SIM Card in X220 Tablet

who is the sim from?
i know in asia there different 3g you really have to ask the cell phone company.
they sell a cheap usb wireless and you can remove the sim.
i dont that before in asia.
they normally push the usb models so it cheaper and easy and you just have to check the service to your gobi like device.
note i said gobi like device this can be any type,i say gobi cause it the most commen name used and the name pretty much means wireless on a sim.
most wireless shops will set it up for you.
there some tweeks too they can do so this is somethig you wanna look into because 3g is a very overloaded thing in asia and dump signals are commen due to over sold market.
i had to tweek mine there to keep a good speed.

like i said go to a mobile shop they do it for you cheap.
