Windows 7 64 bit does not recognize 4 Gig of RAM on X60t Tablet

Question

Have 4 Gig installed on my X60t ThinkPad Tablet and it only recognizes 3GB.  Processor is Intel Core 2 L7400.  What is the maximum memory config on this system?  Is the limitation the OS, the CPU or the Chipset?

Answer

The X60 Tablet is based on the Intel 945GM chipset.   This chipset supports a maximum of 3GB addressable memory.   You can install 4GB physically but the system can only address 3GB max (even with a 64-bit OS).
