X200 Tablet

I got a X200 Tablet Thinkpad through my old school because it was part of the requirements. And i want to reformat my thinkpad but when i bought the thinkpad, i got no OS disk with it. How can i reformat it? Any help? Thanks ;D

Which OS are you using on the X200t? There is the recovery partition on the hdd, which allows you to recover the system to the factory condition (which reinstalls the OS + driver), you can burn the recovery media from windows provided you have the usb dvd/cd burner or the ultrabase with the ultrabay dvd/cd burner.

Do you have a usb dvd burner or ultrabase with a dvd burner installed?

then go into the start -> Thinkvantage toolset -> create product recovery media (should be 3 dvds worth of stuffs).

then restart the laptop and press the blue thinkvantage button, which will allow you to boot into the Rescue and Recovery console, from there choose recover to factory condition, and select full recovery. This will reinstall the whole OS and driver from scratch.

oh thanks alot. i will try this out next week after all my exams. is there any risk in doing this? like would it stuff up half way or soemthing =\

it may stuff up this is why you created the 3 discs product recovery media. In the event of this recovery process not working, you would need to use the recovery media to restore the recovery partition and the active partition containing the OS and driver.
