X220T Screen Issue

Ive been having issuesfor quite some time where there is a strip of the screen that flickers or is stays broken up. Sometimes it looks like static, other times it is inverted color. Has anyone heard of potential issues like this and ow to resolve them?

Often times I can manage to clear it up some by pushing on the screen until it is more legible.

Thanks

Re: X220T Screen Issue

It is hard to be sure without seeing it, but it sounds like the contact strip on the back of the panel has loosened. You need a new panel

Re: X220T Screen Issue

The link works and is a small representation of the problem. Does anyone know what the part number is for the gorilla glass screen? Also, is the digitizer on the screen or something that has to be taken off the old screen?

Re: X220T Screen Issue

The gorilla glass panel is the pen-only screen. The FRU is 04W1546. The digitizer for pen-touch is glued to the back of the panel, so the new screen will come with a new digitizer. The panel for the X230 tablet (04W3991) is the same so either part will work.

Re: X220T Screen Issue

Sweet thanks, I thought that was what I had written down from when I took it apart. When I have been looking vendors have that part listed as Matte finish which makes me believe it is the multitouch screen which is matte finished.

Re: X220T Screen Issue

Can the screen be replaced while retaining the original digitizer?

Re: X220T Screen Issue

Bump.

Can only the LCD be replaced while keeping the original digitizer?

Thanks

Re: X220T Screen Issue

I have never done nor have I seen a satisfactory repair done.
