Hi everyone,
Just picked up a X61 Tablet. I actually have 3, got them all on Ebay for $25.00. I have rebuilt 2 of them with the 3rd unit acting as a donor unit for parts. One unit has the sxga 1400 x 1050 screen, (very nice screen!).
I have been reading how the digitizer just peels off of the back of the screen and can be placed on to a new screen. i currently have 3 digitizer backings with the following numbers:
su5e-12s05as-01x
su5e-12s05as-02x
su5e-12s05as-04x
I have been searching to find out if any of these are the multitouch digitizers, but haven't found any information.
Does anyone know if it is possible to switch any of these backings to get multi touch on the sxga?
Thanks
zog

Hi George,
Thanks for the information, to bad, it would have been nice.
BTW, is there a compatibility list for Thinkpad parts? And do you know if I could place the 1400 x 1050 sxga on my Thinkpad X61 laptop? I do understand that I would have to change the bios for this.
The current screen is HT121X01-101 and the one I would like to put on is a HV121P01-101.
Thanks again
zog

Hmm, seems I need to make or, (shudder), buy a converter cable, if anyone has a link on how to make one, please post it up.

No, there's no "list" per se.
My understanding is that -101 screen won't work for the mod, and that you need -100 which was used in X60T.
There was someone in the UK building these cables and selling them on eBay. No idea on the pricing or quality, though.
Good luck.
