I have a ThinkPad X230 Tablet.
I tried system restore and safe mode, but none of it works.
After windows loads with the glowing animation, the login screen does not appear. I cannot open a task manager. I don't know if it's a problem with explorer.exe or what.
The explorer.exe crashed when I tried to connect to an external hard drive, and I tried to get task manager to open, but it wouldn't open.
That's when I tried to restart computer, and login screen would not appear. All I have is a black screen with cursor.

I’m sorry to hear that you are getting a black screen at Windows login in your Lenovo ThinkPad X230T.
I would suggest you to load default settings in BIOS and check. If the issue persists, you may have to do a startup repair or factory reset of operating system. Use the recovery discs you would have created while you bought the system.
