I just purchased a refurbished x200 Tablet (7450-8HU), and I'm loving it. Upgraded RAM, installed a 120GB SSD, and upgraded it to Windows 8.1 - it's an amazing little machine. Windows 8.1 makes it run like a beast!
But, I do have a question. I've been doing much research, and I do realize that my screen is not capable of 2-finger touch. Yet, I keep reading that the x200 Tablet supports Pen & 1-finger touch. But, my x200 Tablet refuses to recognize my finger, even though in PC Info it says it supports "Pen and Single Touch", and it even let's me calibrate "Touch" (but it won't recognize my finger).
Were there early models of the x200 Tablet that only support Pen, even though the computer says it supports single Touch also? Or is there something wrong with my machine? I've installed all required drivers, and Device Manager says there is nothing missing.

You can try checking the Lenovo Lookup parts:click me
You need to use your machine type 7450-8HU and your serial number (don't post it here). You'll see then a the list of components, you can try checking there if you find a hint about the multitouch.
I read in the german wiki that multitouch was offered after September 2009, you will find the production date next to your machine type (in the form of YY/MM). That maybe also a hint if you have ir or not.
As last resort you could use a program like HW Info o SIW to read the components of your X200T.
My 2 cents...

Thanks. I figured out I don't have 2-finger multitouch since my laptop has a mfg date 12/2008.
After checking the link, it says I have this screen:
|45N5350||45N6092||PANEL LED pASM(Sums)|
Does that screen support Pen + Single Touch? Or Just Pen?

I think it's pen only

I unfortunately can confirm that according to the parts list it is definitely pen only, non-touch; LCD panel, 12.1-in. WXGA, LED backlight (300-nit LCD)

Guys I need some help. My model number is 7453-AH3.
First wanted to confirm link below...
Will only accept the first 4 characters of model. It will not let me type any characters. So just takes 7453. It does yield me results though, however does not list in the parts what my LCD is. Trying to paste output below.
After I put Windows 8.1, neither touch works, nor Pen works. On Window 7, touch worked a bit, Pen worked great. I was told my used tablet had multi touch.
Thanks in advance.

Okay, now if I do not provide machine and just my serial number, I get this. which does list LCD. Even if just Pen works I will be happy. Can't even get that working

Okay so now I have my pen working...sort of...Touch I will leave for another day.
My question is how can I make my editing software such as Notepad, Microsoft Word recognize I have a Digitizer? All I can do right now is click buttons and move and drag windows with my pen.

Nevermind! Tablet Pen Input Panel is removed in Windows 8 because replaced by touch keyboard.
Which brilliant engineer thought that up? Why would you lose the ability to perform character recognizition?
